About Dalkeith Pallet Transport

Dalkeith Transport & Storage Company was registered in 1948, and has a long history within the Transport industry in both Scotland and UK wide. Originally starting off as both general haulage and livestock transportation, the company now specialises in next day palletised delivery and moved away from livestock transportation in the early 1990’s.
The Company was started in 1948 by Alexander Marshall Wright and is now run by both the Managing Director/Finance Director, Peter C Wright and Marshall Wright ,Chairman/ Director. After nearly 60 years, the company is still family run and proud of their history.
Dalkeith Transport presently operate a fleet of circa 47 carrying vehicles, with 100 Trailers hauling general freight throughout the U.K. Together with 200,000 square feet of internal and external warehousing spread over 3 depots, Newtongrange, Broxburn and Auchterarder.
Dalkeith Transport and Storage can offer existing and potential customers a complete distribution service.
These pictures represent some of our fleet throughout the years and illustrate how far Dalkeith Transport have come as a company.


The first picture above is from 1942 and has some of our original drivers, including Marshall Wright, who started the company, while the second picture is from 1982 and has the some of the same drivers with the vehicles they had in 1982, some 40 years later.

Over 10 years later, this is a picture of one of our articulated tractor units from 10 years ago, this ERF came into our fleet in the mid 1990’s.
